My project was on the simple, beautiful things and how we run around all day and rarely spend time appreciating the small intricacies and details of life. The concept of a tea house was astounding to me. People come to the gardens to take a break from the crazy, drink tea, and then continue on with their lives.

When I went to Ireland, my final project was centered around the Ballyvaughan Tea and Garden Rooms. I became good friends with the owners, and every time I went to paint or take photos they would bring me free tea and pastries. It was really beautiful hospitality that I was really moved by. When I left, I left all of my prints with them, and now they adorn the walls of the tea house.
